Wind Orchestra
Concerts Manager
Charlotte Matthews
Charlotte is a 3rd year music student who was involved in the society last year as treasurer and a conductor of flute ensemble. A well-known face of the music department and a regular participant as a flautist in many ensembles, her commitment in wind orchestra this year has inspired her to take on the position as concerts manager. She will be using experience from her time with professional orchestra, Sinfonia Viva, to liaise with the personnel manager and conductor. She looks forward to seeing you in rehearsal!
Personnel Manager
Becky Lane
Becky is a 3rd year Architecture student. She has somehow made time to play the tenor saxophone in Wind Orchestra for the last 2 years. Becky was the Personnel Manager for Wind Orchestra last year as well, so she should know what she is doing by now!
Moonlighters Big Band
Musical Director
James Bebbington
Hi I'm James or more commonly known as Bebs, and I am a fourth year physics student. And no I didn't make a mistake, I really am in fourth year; so when I'm not too busy fighting off the onset of athritis, I'll be conducting Moons this year. Having been a member of Moons for the previous 46 years I thought it would be nice to give something back. I'm sure we're in for a fantastic year!
Manager
Tom Peterken
Tom Peterken is continuing as manager of Moonlighters Big Band this year, having thoroughly enjoyed fulfilling the role last year. He thinks he can play trombone, and has been a member of both Moonlighters and the Wind Orchestra. As a third year physics student, he may not be seen around the music department as much as others on the committee, but he is always welcoming to any contact to alleviate his suffering from the lonely depths of lab work. He enjoys pretending he's a music student sometimes you see. Tom will be happy to answer any questions about the band, including the audition process.

Matt Wigley
Charlotte is a 3rd year music student who was involved in the society last year as treasurer and a conductor of flute ensemble. A well-known face of the music department and a regular participant as a flautist in many ensembles, her commitment in wind orchestra this year has inspired her to take on the position as the conductor of the newly formed Concert Band. She looks forward to seeing you in rehearsals.
Matt Wigley, aka. Wiggles, is a 2nd year music student straight from the heart of Birmingham. Although primarily a saxophonist, Matt plays his clarinet from time to time and is this year helping to conduct several small ensembles, as well as being the BlowSoc treasurer. He spends many of his hours around the music department, providing a welcome and friendly face whilst arguing with the other students about the strength of his accent.
