Blowsoc Tour 2014

This is our 2013 tour to Berlin, Germany!

Our latest tour video will be uploaded ASAP!

Tour 2015

Blowsoc presents the 2015 tour to... Belgium!

Date:

20th April to the 26th of April 2015

Location:

Belgium ft.  Bruges, Ghent and Brussels

Who's allowed to come?:

EVERYONE IN BLOWSOC!

Groups performing:

Wind Orchestra and Moonlighters Big Band

How will we get there?

We will be travelling in style in a lovely coach from the music department at The University of Nottingham and this will take us to Belgium and our accommodation.

The coach will also be used to take us to the three concerts on tour and to our group trip.

Where will we be performing?
There will be three concerts on tour: one just for Moons, one for the wind orchestra and then a final concert all together!
Concert venues are yet to be confirmed but will hopefully be one concert in each of the main cities of Belgium (Bruges, Ghent and Brussels) meaning there will also be time to explore.

Where will we be staying?

We will be in a youth hostel in a city called Kortrijk which is a max. 2 hour drive from Bruges, Ghent and Brussels.

As this is a city, there are lots of restaurants, bars all walking distance from the hostel.

Tour schedule?

FEAR NOT!

This will be revealed nearer to our departure.

How much will this cost?

Tour price is £348

This will be paid in TWO installments

1. £110 to be paid BY the 25th of October 2014

2. £238 to be paid BY the 7th of February 2015

This includes:

Accommodation

Coach travel

Group trip out (so so so excited about this!)

Breakfast everyday that we are at the hostel

What is not included:

Personal travel insurance (you MUST have this)

Instrument insurance (really advise you get this but is not compulsory)

Spending money (belgium use the euro!)

Money for lunch and dinner

Rehearsals

There will be rehearsals the weekend before we go (18th and 19th of April 2015) but more information about these rehearsals will be given nearer the time.

There will also be rehearsals during term time but these will be confirmed soon.

Pre tour socials

There will hopefully be two tour socials (yay) and this will be a great chance for people to get to know each other before we go away.

I hope from this you feel encouraged to come on tour, it is such a great way to meet new people (and spend some time with those you do know) performing in some awesome venues and getting some travel done too!

Tour this year is the final week of easter, meaning that when we get back, you will already be in Nottingham for the beginning of term (result!)

I am aware that people will want to revise during easter, but hand-in deadlines and exams are quite a few weeks away so there will be plenty of time to still come and have fun! (Taking a break is good for you!)

Last year, I was concerned about going on tour because I was only in the flutes ensemble and I didn’t really know that many people. However, tour was one of my favourite memories from my first year. I met so many people from the other ensembles and got to play in the tour wind orchestra! I met people who weren’t doing a music course and were just as nutty about music as me! It was also my first time ever traveling outside of the UK and France and I fell in love with travelling!
